The firm was established in 1990, in Marin County, California, and from its inception has specialized in will contests and trust litigation with the goal of giving each client the in depth attention and services they deserve. Estate planning, the administration of trust and probating wills are a large part of our business. The firm’s other areas of practice are in real property and business, both transactions and litigation. Recently, we have handled matters in Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, Contra Costa, Riverside, San Luis Obispo, Placer, Amador, Nevada, and Kern Counties, representing clients from across the country.
Henry Froneberger received his J.D. degree from Wake Forest University in 1972 and an L.L.M. from George Washington University in 1973. He joined John Burroughs in Marin County in 1990 after practicing in San Francisco for seventeen years. Henry has practiced in the areas of trust and estate litigation and estate planning for 20 years and in the areas of business and real property for 35 years. He has tried numerous cases to conclusion and has successfully settled many more cases. Henry also has handled appeals in trust and estate matters. He has devoted many hours over the years to volunteer work for various non-profit groups and has given many hours to pro bono work for Legal Aid.
Kristi L. Edwards, CCLS, has worked for the firm since 1992, in the roles of legal secretary, paralegal, bookkeeper, and general office manager. She completed certification as a California Certified Legal Secretary through Legal Secretaries, Inc. in October 1998, and has studied in the paralegal program at Sonoma State University. Kristi has been a member of the Marin County Legal Professionals Association since 1994, holding several positions on their board of directors. She enjoys the teamwork aspect of working in a law office and providing quality service to clients who need assistance during difficult times.
Ian E. Anderson graduated from U.C. Hastings, College of the Law in May of 2011 and started working at Burroughs & Fronebger in September of 2011.
John D. Burroughs, a graduate of the University of Minnesota and U.C. Hastings, College of the Law, practiced in the areas of insurance law, personal injury and probate and trust litigation for many years. After over 35 successful years in private practice, John retired in 2001.
All
members of the firm regularly attend continuing education seminars to
stay up-to-date with the ever-changing landscape of today’s estate
practice. We associate with organizations such as the Marin, Sonoma, and
Los Angeles Bar Associations, frequently attending the Probate and
Estate Planning and Real Estate Section activities, to allow networking
with other experts in the field. Working together, we form a strong
team, devoted to achieving the best result possible for our clients,
applying our experience and knowledge to each unique situation.
